Here is what our clients say about the experience:

A good picture has clarity OR tells a story. An amazing picture has clarity, focus, and a distinctive narrative. I was so touched when I first saw my daughter’s pictures taken in the last semester of her senior year by Kyung. Each picture captures a smile, a look, a mood - seemingly unscripted, whether it be silliness, fondness of her instrument, fun with her friends, introspective moments - typical of a high school kid. It’s not like a studio picture you feel the smile or pose is forced. I feel “that’s her”, and “those are her moments” and the story is beautiful. In hindsight, these pictures are the gifts that keep giving. As I am writing this, we are still in the lockdown due to Covid 19. Many of the senior events and moments are slipping away. Though I am optimistic there will be many more unique celebrations as they embark on their next adventure, these may be the only pictures that capture the sense of ease of those ‘normal’ days.

Let me also share my observations on how Kyung worked. She spent a lot of time behind the scenes - from the appearance to the context - without losing sight of Zoe’s personality. Kyung also comes with a vision and she executes it with such hard work, incredible energy, and thoughtfulness.

So, don’t wait! Capture fleeting moments while you can, especially with the care, professionalism, and artistry of a wonderful photographer!

My “Musician’s Portrait Experience” with Yellowhale captured moments that show my identity as an artist and my passion and commitment to the arts. Kyung’s thoughtful communication and environment throughout the entire process was invaluable and made for a really great experience. I would not consider myself someone who is photogenic, but with Kyung’s experience both as a photographer and a musician, she made the photo shoot fun and enjoyable and I ended up with many more great moments than I expected! This is one of the best investments I have made; the photos I received capture every aspect of my performance and teaching experience that I have wanted to share with both my students and the professional music community.

Thanks again for the experience.

Kyung’s “musician’s portrait experience” is a gift to my family. Each day, I walk into my piano room, see the picture of my daughter with her flute, I say “thank you”. We all know, Kyung is a talented photographer, not many know, she is a pianist herself, a daughter of an opera singer. The musician photo session for my daughter, a flautist, taken in Kyung’s Yellowhale Portraits Studio was absolutely divine. Kyung was able to see a deep connection in between the musician and her instrument, capture it with her magical lens. The only hard part was to pick and choose “the one” in the end. For my family, we ended up each picking a favorite one, and telling why. We know for sure, years later, the piano will be dusty in the living room, as parents, all we are left with, will be these pictures, priceless!
— Momo Yuzuki
Music is a discipline that requires a tremendous amount of time and hard work. The photo session allowed our daughter to have a moment to appreciate her instrument in a special way. Kyung is amazing with kids and is able to draw out their unique personalities with ease. Needless to say, Gracie had an amazing time at the photo shoot. The photos are beautiful. They will serve as a constant reminder of what has become a big part of her life - hard work, an appreciation of music, and great memories with close friends. As a mom, these photos trigger fond memories of her growing and achieving her dreams through music - I still remember when she, at the age of seven, got her first 1/4 size violin, and look forward to the many years ahead.

My twin sons had a wonderful experience with the musicians portraits at Yellowhale. They both love their instruments and Kyung was able to capture images of them that displayed the joy that they feel from playing music. The portrait session itself was fun and relaxed. The boys took pictures playing their instruments both individually and together. Kyung was able to get the boys to relax and smile. They were laughing and having fun the whole time. The images from the session were amazing. It was honestly very hard to choose which ones I liked best because there were SO many that were great. I ended up with an incredible portrait that captures the unique personalities of both of my boys. The portrait shows their love of music and highlights their dedication and love for their instruments. I highly recommend a musician portrait from Yellowhale to capture the joy that music brings to your child.
